Dream Big
My “big
dream” is that our cabin business can be successful and that we won’t go
bankrupt trying to get them built. I also want my husband, David to love what
he is doing. I think seeing him happy in his work is my biggest dream of
building this business with him. I am easy going and will be happy just being
able to work together and I just want David to be fulfilled in his work. I know
that this project is stressful for him, but someday I hope that as the work progresses
it can become fun for him.
The
things I learned from this week’s reading and video is what a person’s most
valuable assets are as an entrepreneur. These are intelligence, energy, and
experience. I hope that between David and I, we have enough of these three assets
to achieve our dream. I am going to school to learn how to run a business to
improve my intelligence. David has construction experience to do the work of
building the cabins, and together we have remodeled a few houses and know how
to finish the insides of the cabins. I am working on my physical stamina to be
able to do the work needed to help with getting these cabins built. I am
working on building these assets so we can be successful and achieve our big
dream.
Something that I enjoyed re-learning
about this week was from Dallin H. Oaks talk The Challenge to Become
(General Conference 2000) and that is I need to become something rather than
just learn something while I am here on earth. This can be part of my “big dream”
of who I can become and this should be part of my goals I make to achieve my
dreams. I liked that President Oaks gave us a couple of ways to measure if we
are becoming who Heavenly Father wants us to become. These are losing the desire
to do evil and being able to hear Christ’s voice and not the world. These are
things I definitely need to improve upon, but I think that as I do, I will be
closer to ‘becoming.’
