My Own DPC
I feel extremely blessed
to be able to attend BYU-I online. I think that the blessing of being able to
finish my education online at home, without having to go to a classroom is a privilege.
I think that even though I am not a campus student, I still get some of the benefits
they enjoy in Rexburg. Some of the blessings are that all of my classes link
back to the gospel, my math teacher was even able to link lessons back to the
gospel. All of the resources for online students helps us better ourselves and
become disciple leaders in our own way. So, in my own small way, I have a DPC
right here in my home, connected with the BYU-I campus. It’s wonderful!
The article that resonated
with me was A Message to Garcia. I thought it was a powerful story about
how we are capable of doing things without a lot of direction and that the
ability to execute is such a valuable skill to have. Just being able to get a
job done will impress employers and help a person to move up the ladder of
success. As an entrepreneur, this skill could attract the attention of investors
who will want to work with me on a new venture or help with the venture I am currently
working on.
I
really liked the video from Carly Fiorina who shared about capability and the importance
of being able to adapt to change. I thought that was a really great lesson to
learn because sometimes I have ideas that I know will work, and when they don’t,
I keep doing them, even though they don’t work. I need to be able to adapt to
change and do something different to be successful. I was glad she shared this vital
lesson.
